Ivory Coast to Ethiopia

Yesterday was our last day in the IC and we had a lot of ground to cover. After the visit to the school, Mathieu and I went to get some shopping done and meet with Mathieu's father's wife's boss to say a quick hello. We ate Chinese food (at a closed restaurant but for some reason they let us in). Then Mathieu took me around where his old high school was (it was destroyed in the war so there is nothing left). I finally got to take my walk so I was excited because we mostly drive around. We walked to several smaller outdoor markets to look for shoes for Caleb but no one had the kind we wanted but they sure tried to sell us everything else. We found a group of people that had set up a tent with a TV so a bunch of people could watch the soccer games and we went to a store where no one was working because he was watching the game through the gates of a restaurant. We are sad to be leaving tomorrow because IC is playing and we will miss the madness. Most businesses will close at noon to prep for the 2:00 game.

Mathieu and I visited his sister one more time before heading to his dad's house for dinner. Back at Yves' parents house they were having dinner with his brother. So we had a chance to see everyone one last time.

This morning we woke up at 4am to be at the airport which was an interesting experience. So within 50 feet we had to show our passports to 3 different people before getting to the ticket counter. Then Mathieu and I were 20lbs over weight so we had to pay but in the process we realized we needed new seating assignments and forgot about the luggage fees. Well the guy came to find us but couldn't take credit cards so after a lot of badgering, Mathieu gave him some US$ and we were off.

We arrived in Addis Ababa and because Adis is from here, she got us through the express lanes so we made it through customs pretty quickly. We just ate dinner and it's time for bed. Our shuttle leaves at 6am in the morning.
